Clement Efe Ogoh Is a Nigerian-based Photographer and Creative Director.

Growing up in Lagos, he developed creativity from a young age, running through his neighborhood and exploring with his friends. They made up stories together, and built games and toys out of whatever materials they could find. During that time he also became intrigued by the style, production, and the background work it took to produce some of the TV programs he watched regularly. His first experience with photography brought him back to that same childhood spirit of fascination and ingenuity in using what is around you to create something new. When he first began experimenting with photography he knew he found an avenue to develop his creative passion, and was enamored that it gave him the tools to capture a moment in time. The projects he has directed have this theme: they allude to and draw inspiration from the past in a classic manner, yet they are contemporary, experimental, and prophetic in their focus. Essentially, there is always a story to interpret from his images, and leaves a person wondering what is just outside of the frame, and what is the unseen behind this picture? One glance into the subject’s eyes, and Ogoh has invited you to understand their true spirit and essence. He takes great pride in creating this journey.

Ogoh draws inspiration for his work from the environment around him, which gives his alternative style of work a progressive & experimental focus. His projects celebrate the diversity of humanity and its survival. While he does use studios from time to time, he loves using natural, outdoor elements to beautifully capture his subject and captivate the audience. His work has a clear, rugged inspiration to it: from flowers to water, and skylines to landscapes, he captures a wide variety of human form and skin tone cradled into a scene.

Ogoh began his photography career in the fashion industry, where he was exposed to large teams coordinating together for a common goal. He was inspired by people expressing deep thoughts and values through every-day items such as clothing. This taught him about directing and the work it takes to have a strong team to carry out a vision. It also placed a value in him to have a healthy, friendly working environment where colleagues can freely share ideas and challenge each other to do the best work they possibly can which supports the ultimate goal and vision for the project in its entirety.

From his first steps in the photography world, he branched out and began to experiment in his own work. His journey has taken him through not only the fashion industry, but also the tourism and music industry. His work has been an avenue for him to support and uplift the Lagos spirit. He captures the everyday life of the city: its diversity in lifestyle, its local artists and craftsman, its immense beauty, its deep struggle.

His hope for the future of his career is to travel, share the richness of Africa with the world, and capture new themes from around the world while using what his home roots taught him to value and love. Not only is he immersed in the world of photography, but he identifies as being the revolution of photography.
